Shooting at Warsaw and Congress Leaves Woman in Critical Condition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Yesterday around 7:26 P.M., Fort Wayne Police responded to the intersection of Warsaw Street and Congress Avenue in reference to a shooting. Officers got to the scene and found a female sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked on Warsaw Street. She was conscious and appeared to be suffering from several apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. She was then downgraded to critical condition by a physician. Preliminary reports indicate the victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and a man was sitting in the passenger seat when the shooting happened. Witnesses say a dark colored SUV traveling south on Warsaw Street pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle and fired several shots. The man in the passenger seat was not injured. Witnesses say at least one window on the passenger side of suspect SUV was shattered. Detectives are trying to figure out what caused the shattered window.
