Snow Leads to Delays and Crashes

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – As much as 3 inches of snow across Indiana has delayed or closed schools and led to scores of crashes.

A chain reaction crash involving more than a dozen vehicles blocked an icy section of Interstate 74 southeast of Indianapolis for two hours Monday morning. No injuries were reported.

In Fort Wayne, a car was unable to stop at an intersection and slid into a school bus. None of the four students or the driver on the bus was injured but the car's driver suffered minor injuries.

Authorities in eastern Indiana's Wayne County reported more than 30 crashes and 20 slide-offs.

Several school districts across the state announced closings of delayed openings Monday. Some also are reporting delays for Tuesday because of temperatures forecast to fall into single digits.
