State Leaders Warn About Illegal Firework Damage Coverage

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): State leaders are warning Hoosier homeowners and renters that their insurance might not cover damage from some fireworks–those that are banned in their counties. The Indiana Department of Insurance says a lot of insurance policies have disclaimers for coverage caused by illegal acts committed by the insured person. Damage caused by someone ELSE’S fireworks may be covered. Best advice? Insurance Commissioner Stephen Robertson says people should check their county’s laws and their insurance coverage.
