FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man accused of murdering his own mother last month told police he was possessed by demons and Adolf Hitler.

That’s according to court documents in the case of 34-year-old Jason Steiss. The Journal Gazette reports his lawyer filed the documents to ask a judge for a mental evaluation, in order to see if Steiss is competent to stand trial.

The paper reports his attorney also indicated that they’ll be relying on “a defense of mental disease or defect.”

Police say Steiss admitted to punching, biting, and choking Joy Steiss in their home on October 24th.
