Suspended Sentence for Copper Theft

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man charged with stealing more than four thousand pounds of copper in May has been sentenced.

Thursday in Allen Superior Court, 42-year old Timothy Hardy was given a two-year sentence, with all of it suspended.

He's also been placed on two-years probation. Hardy accepted a plea deal admitting to felony theft. 

According to court records, the copper was worth more than $12 thousand dollars from his employer, OmniSource. 

The case was set to go to trial in December.
