Three Injured In Snowmobile Accident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an early morning snowmobile accident in LaParte County.  

The incident happened just outside Westville, near State Road 2.  Three friends were reportedly trespassing when operating snowmobiles on private property when they hit a ditch and rolled several times.  Police estimate the operators were launched as far as 45 feed from their snowmobiles.

All three riders were injured in the accident.  David Pilarski, 20, from Westville suffered a concussion, broken right femur, and broken nose. Charlie Herrold, 18, of LaPorte suffered a broken clavicle. Sam Thompson, 22, from LaPorte, suffered a broken nose.  Pilarski and Herrold were taken to St. Anthony’s Medical Center for treatment. 

All three riders were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.  

Indiana Conservation Officers want to remind snowmobile riders to be careful and register off-road vehicle at the Bureau of Motor Vehicle Office.
