FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne TinCaps got some big praise from the baseball industry today.

The team has received Ballpark Digest’s 2018 “Continued Excellence Award,” recognizing the team for its success throughout its first ten seasons at Parkview Field.

TinCaps President Mike Nutter tells WOWO News it’s high praise indeed.

“And really it shows, it’s not just based on one season. We’ve finished ten seasons, we’ve welcomed our 4-millionth fan, and I’m glad they also focused on the non-baseball stuff (concerts and special events) because Parkview Field is rockin’ all year round.”

Nutter adds the team will be making some improvements over the next couple of seasons to keep Parkview Field among the best places in the country to see a ballgame, including upgrades to the stadium’s sound system and video board.
