Tornado damages Jay County High School

PORTLAND, Ind. (WOWO) – The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado caused damage to Jay County High School during an unexpected severe weather event Sunday night.

While there were no injuries, a portion of the roof was torn off the school.

The American Legion post in downtown Portland reportedly had heavy damage as well.

NWS will conduct a survey Monday to determine the strength of the tornado.
