Toy Truck Auction Nets $3,500 for Indiana Boy with Cancer

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A toy truck and tractor auction has raised more than $3,500 for the family of an Indiana boy who has been treated for cancer.

The Indianapolis Star reports the auction took place Saturday during the Lafayette Farm Toy Show at an Indianapolis airport hotel. The Galloway family traveled to the event from Waynetown, about an hour northwest of Indianapolis.

Seven-year-old Kale Galloway has a rare cancer usually found in the lungs. His father says the auction proceeds will help pay for medical costs and trips to Indianapolis for treatments. He says doctors will determine this week if Kale is healthy enough to return to school.

The model trucks and tractors were made by enthusiasts, who then donated them to the auction.
