TRAA Extends Deadline with Consolidated Dispatch

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) The Three Rivers Ambulance Authority has extended its notice to Allen County from 30 days to 90 days, giving leaders more time to negotiate a new contract before ending 911 dispatch service outside Fort Wayne.

TRAA officials say the extension ensures every caller in the county continues to receive lifesaving guidance, including CPR or bleeding-control instructions, when they dial 911. Director of Operations Mike Manz says both sides have made progress toward a deal, while Executive Director Joel Benz said conversations with a county commissioner indicate 90 days should be enough to finalize a plan.
