FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Hundreds of volunteers from dozens of community organizations will take part in United Way's Day of Caring Thursday.

Officials say work like cleaning, landscaping, painting and general maintenance at charities, child care centers and schools. NeighborLink has also connected some private residences for projects.

In a statement from United Way:

“Day of Caring is a great tradition of service for our community,” said Todd Stephenson, president and CEO of United Way of Allen County. “The day reinforces how generous Allen County residents and companies are with their time, talent and treasures and United Way is honored to continue to organize this event.”
