FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Fort Wayne Police are investigating after a body was found in the St. Mary’s River Friday.

Police were called to the river, just below the Three Rivers Apartment complex, around 1:15 p.m. after people on a passing boat discovered a body inside a tent that had become entangled in debris in the water.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department’s rescue team freed the remains, sent them to the boat ramp on Michaels Avenue, where they were then taken to the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center.

The person was later identified as Joshua Lee Huguley, 39 of Fort Wayne.

The cause and manner of death are still being investigated.
