UPDATE: Coroner Rules in New Haven Crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police say a man died when he crashed a van near New Haven while his wife and stepdaughter were fleeing from him in another vehicle.

The Allen County Coroner's office has ruled 54-year old George Collins died from blunt force trauma in a single vehicle crash near Minnich and Paulding Roads. Authorities say Collins was thrown from a van after it rolled on its side. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The man was pronounced dead soon after the crash.

Tinkel says a domestic dispute escalated into the chase during which the woman called police and dispatchers were talking with her daughter in an attempt to get them to slow down or to a police station.

The woman isn't expected to face any charges.
