UPDATE: Man Shot Wife and Friend at Monticello Furniture Plant

MONTICELLO, Ind. (AP) _ A northern Indiana sheriff says one of three people fatally shot in a furniture plant parking lot ambushed his estranged wife and her friend and co-worker as they returned from a break.

White County Sheriff Patrick Shafer said Wednesday that 42-year-old Israel Rogel of Wolcott was lying in wait outside Jordan Manufacturing Co. in Monticello for 43-year-old Delia Gonzalez of Monon, who Shafer described as Rogel's “soon to be ex-wife.''

Shafer says that when she and 42-year-old Augustin Oliver of Logansport returned from a break about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Rogel approached their car and shot Oliver multiple times in the head, then shot Gonzalez in her head and chest before shooting himself in the head.

Shafer says Rogel went to the plant looking for Gonzalez and waited for her return.
