FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One woman is in stable condition after a shooting Wednesday night on the city's southeast side.

Police were called to Trace Circle off of Wayne Trace just after 9:00 P.M. on a report of a shooting. The victim, a 60-year-old woman, told police that someone knocked on her door, and as she went to answer it the suspect or suspects began shooting at her from the outside.

The woman was taken to the hospital with gunshots to her leg and hand. A witness reported seeing two men at the house, one of whom fired shots. The witness said the men got into a dark, possibly maroon-colored, small car and left the complex.

Police say multiple areas, including the garage door, windows, and siding areas were hit by shots.
