Police Chief and Director of Public Safety Sworn In

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne's Police Chief and the Director of Public Safety have been sworn in. Garry Hamilton, formerly Deputy Chief of the Southeast Division, is the City's newest police chief, responsible for items like addressing homicides and other crime activity, and communication efforts with neighborhoods and businesses. Rusty York, former Police Chief, is now the city's new Director of Public Safety. As director, York will oversee both the Police Department and Fire Department and mentor public safety employees, among other responsibilities.
