UPDATE: Fort Wayne Man likely Killed by Stray Bullet

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating the death of a man authorities believe was hit by a stray bullet inside of a home.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area Wednesday night before receiving a call from the home. According to a press release, officers found the man unresponsive on the second floor of the South Hanna Street home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe at least one bullet entered the home and struck the man. A police spokesman says other people were in the home but no one else was injured.

The department is asking anyone with information to come forward.
