22 Charges Filed Against Driver of Indiana Van That Crashed

PRINCETON, Ind. (AP) _ A prosecutor has filed 22 charges including 18 felonies against the driver of an overloaded van that overturned on a southwestern Indiana highway, killing two people.
 
The charges filed Thursday against 30-year-old James D. Allen of Washington, Indiana, include two counts of causing death while driving while intoxicated on a controlled substance, seven counts of causing serious injury while driving while intoxicated on a controlled substance, and nine counts of criminal recklessness while driving aggressively.
 
The controlled substance Allen allegedly was using at the time was not immediately made public.
 
The van blew a tire and overturned Sept. 24 on Interstate 69 about 20 miles northeast of Evansville. Two women, 29-year-old Christela Georges and Gena Moise, 60, died from their injuries.
 
Allen's home phone rang constantly busy Thursday afternoon.
