4 Arrested After Officer-Involved Shooting In Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Authorities say four men were arrested following an officer-involved shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says officers responded Wednesday afternoon to a report of a burglary in progress at a home. An officer spotted a white vehicle matching a witness' description while en route to the scene and followed it to an apartment building.

The department says four suspects got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Police say the officer began chasing after the suspects, and one of the men pointed a gun at the officer, who then fired several shots at the suspects.

The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/1L09u8o ) reports it's unclear whether the suspect fired at the officer. No one was injured.

The officer has been placed on administrative leave pending a routine investigation into an officer-involved shooting.
