FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NETWORK INDIANA) — A suspicious metal pipe found in the trunk of a vehicle during a routine inventory search prompted a swift response from Fort Wayne Police on Lower Huntington Road Thursday night.

After a K9 unit alerted to possible explosive material, members of the FWPD Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit safely removed the pipe following an evacuation of the area.
