FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – A 52-year-old Angola man has been found guilty of molesting a 5-year-old girl.

The Steuben County Prosecutor’s Office says Brian McKale was found guilty of one Level 1 Felony count of child molestation after a two-day trial. 

Documents say a Sheriff’s deputy responded to a child molestation complaint in December of 2022 after a 5-year-old’s mother was made aware of the incident. 

McKale was reportedly in a relationship witht he girl’s great-grandmother at the time. The girl stated that McKale “did somethin bad” to her while she was staying with her grandma. 

Reports say body fluids were found in the floor of the girl’s grandma’s bedroom as well as a pink ballet leotard. The section of carpet and the leotard were collected as evidence.

21 Alive News reports that results from the evidence collection kit confirmed seminal fluid on the carpet but not on the leotard. 

McKale is now in the Steuben County Jail. His sentencing is scheduled for February 21.
