Fort Wayne Community Schools will soon be getting some new computer hardware. According to the Journal Gazette, the school board gave the green light to purchase more than 700 new laptops to help students prepare for online standardized testing mandates. The district will use short-term loans to purchase the 724 computers at a total cost of about $506,000. It will spend an additional $75,000 for software and licensing fees. The school board unanimously approved the expenditures at its meeting last night.
