Teacher Accused of Cheating on ISTEP Sues District

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Former teacher, Laura Farner, has sued Southwest Allen County Schools for forcing her out of a job and ruining her reputation after she was accused of cheating on Indiana’s standardized student achievement test. The suit filed Friday in Allen County court seeks a hearing before the school board so Farner can clear her name. The district said that Farner violated protocol on the state’s annual ISTEP test last March, causing test scores for 120 seventh graders to be invalidated.
