PEOPLE… Oy vey…
1) If you cause, or come across, damage to a powerline that is discharging electricity; Stay back & call 911 immediately!
2) If you are in an incapacitated vehicle, and you have downed lines on your vehicle, don’t get out of your vehicle! Call 911 Immediately! ONLY Exit the vehicle if it is on fire or smells of burning materials, and do so without touching both the vehicle and ground.
3) If you get an unmanned object stuck in a powerline (e.g. Kite, Balloon, Drone, RC Plane ..etc.), and it is not posing an immediate safety risk, LEAVE IT! Call the Utility Company that owns the powerlines to report the incident.
NEVER attempt to dislodge an object from a powerline.
You’ll potentially contact two lines or complete the circuit to ground.. which is bad. Leave this task to a professional.
4) If you accidentally get your pair of shoes stuck on the powerline… call the police.
