WARSAW, IND. (WOWO) A pedestrian was seriously injured and airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital after being struck by a pickup truck Monday morning in Warsaw, according to local authorities.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:08 a.m. on June 15, 2026, on Center Street west of Little League Drive.

Responding agencies included the Warsaw Police Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Lutheran EMS, and Lutheran Air Ambulance.


Crash investigation on Center Street

Preliminary findings indicate that a 2025 Ford F-250 driven by 63-year-old James M. Deckler of Edwardsburg, Michigan, was traveling west on Center Street when the vehicle left the north side of the roadway.

Authorities say the truck then struck a pedestrian, identified as 26-year-old Alan Stephens of Warsaw, who was working alongside the roadway at the time of the crash.

Officials have not released further details on what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.


Victim airlifted to Fort Wayne hospital

Emergency personnel provided medical treatment at the scene before Stephens was transported by Lutheran Air Ambulance to a Fort Wayne hospital.

Authorities say he was taken in serious condition.

His current condition has not been updated publicly.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Fatal Team was requested to assist with crash reconstruction due to the severity of the incident.
