Coroner Rules in Saturday Death


UPDATE: FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man found unresponsive after a fight on Fort Wayne's southeast Saturday died from Asphyxia due to neck compression.

That's the preliminary ruling of the Allen County Coroners office has ruled the death a homicide.

Authorities found the man, 45-year-old Darrell King, on Gladstone Drive around 5:15 after an apparent fight. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

It's the second homicide of the year in Allen County.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities investigating a death on Gladstone Drive this today.

Details are still sketchy, but investigators say a fight occurred between two men. It is unclear the motive for the fight.

One man was found unresponsive at the scene around 5:15 today. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition were he was later pronounced dead.

Gang activity is not believed to be a factor in the death. We should know more Sunday, including the identity of the dead man.
