Downtown Theatre Renamed for Local Businessman

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A downtown landmark gets a new name.



The University of St. Francis' Performing Arts Center on West Berry will be the Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center. Officials made the announcement this morning.



Goldstine who died in 2011, was a Fort Wayne realtor and developer and was involved with the university since the 1970s.



According to the university, Goldstine was also influential in saving the Embassy Theatre.



The Robert Goldstein Foundation contributed $1 million to the project, that was formerly the Scottish Rite Center.
