Five Injured in Kosciusko County Crash Tuesday Evening

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Five people were seriously injured after a head-on crash Tuesday evening in Kosciusko County. Crews were called just after 6:00 P.M. to the crash along County Farm Road, south of County Road 350 South where they found the five people, one of whom was trapped. 60-year-old John Etter, of Huntington, was found lying in the road. He was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital in serious condition. 51-year-old Maxine Spangle, of Claypool, was extricated and also airlifted to Lutheran Hospital. She was listed in serious condition with leg injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, 43-year-old Gary Spangle, of Claypool, had minor injuries to his lower leg. 15-year-old Hunter Haines and 14-year-old Madison Haines, both of Claypool, were also injured in the second vehicle and taken to a local hospital in stable condition with shoulder and head injuries, respectively. Early investigations show that Etter was driving south when he crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Gary Spangle, of Claypool. The crash is still under investigation pending blood test results, as required by state law.
