FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An Allen County dog rescue can no longer serve as a foster home to dogs.
Perfect Paws was denied a special use allowance by the Allen County Board of Zoning Appeals, preventing them from housing dogs on their 3-acre property on Flutter Road.
According to the Journal Gazette, the owners of Perfect Paws have a total of seven dogs, four Chihuahuas and three poodles. They take in foster dogs that supposedly live in their house, not in an outside kennel.
Allen County has a limit of five dogs per household, but the ordinance is only enforced with the city receives complaints. A few neighbors complained of loud barking, but the owners say the noise didn't come from any of the dogs at Perfect Paws.
The Perfect Paws program will continue to run a website and foster dogs will be taken by volunteers.
