FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne's Ronald McDonald House at Parkview Regional Medical Center is expanding.

Officials announced Wednesday they'll add four additional guest rooms. With the expansion, it will be the largest Ronald McDonald House inside a hospital, in the world. Work is expected to begin in January.

When completed in May, it will expand to 10,500 square feet with capacity to host 15 family guest rooms.

According to a press release, nearly 800 families a year stay at the Ronald McDonald House and benefit from overnight accommodations, food and other support services.

The Ronald McDonald House serves the families of all dependent children 21 and under and is available at absolutely no charge to the guest families.
