ISP Trooper Killed on Duty Remembered


WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana State Police officials are commemorating the death of a trooper today.

Fifteen years ago today, Trooper Jason Beal died from fatal injuries in a severe weather crash on State Road 14 in Kosciusko County.

Beal was assisting a tow truck driver when he was struck by a vehicle. He dead of those internal injuries January 15, 2000.

Stretch of State Road 14 in southeastern Kosciusko County is dedicated to the officer.

Beal had served as a jailer and a reserve officer in Shelby County before joining the Indiana State Police.
