Court Orders NIPSCO to Issue Refunds to Electric Consumers

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): If you are NIPSCO electrical customer, you could be getting a refund.

Under terms of an agreement, the company must refund about $1 million dollars. The State Court of Appeals ruled last month NIPSCO must repay customers and and develop a new rate increase.

According to the Journal-Gazette, the state's Utility Regulatory Commission approved the a modernization plan in 2014. At that time, Office of Utility Consumer Counselor filed the appeal.

The average electrical customer will get a refund of about $6. Gas customers aren't impacted.
