Unemployment Benefits Safe from Sequester

Temporary unemployment benefits will not be on the budget cutting block, at least for now. State officials changed their minds last night to extend benefits, despite a the possibility of federally mandated budget cuts, also known as the sequester. Officials say they were advised by the federal government the aid would remain in place.
