Summit to Explore High Ind. Infant Mortality Rate

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Public health experts and community leaders are gathering for Indiana's first statewide summit focused on the state's high infant mortality rate. Indiana had an infant mortality rate in 2011 of 7.7 deaths per 1,000 live births. That was the 6th highest such rate in the nation. Infant mortality rates reflect the number of babies who die during their first year of life per 1,000 live births.
