South Bend Officer Hurt by Crash into Building

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP): A South Bend police officer was taken to a hospital after a squad car collided with an SUV and slammed into a building.
 
       The crash happened about 2 a.m. Monday, with the squad car going over a sidewalk and hitting a building near the city's downtown owned by Michiana Moving and Storage.
 
       The officer suffered minor injuries.
 
       The crash left the door and front end smashed in on the car's passenger side. The impact knocked a hole through the wall of the brick building.
 
       Details on the circumstances of the crash weren't immediately released.
