SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WOWO):  A Lakeville reserve officer was taken to the hospital after colliding with a truck after a traffic stop. 

Dennis Glick, 31 of South Bend was stopped near US 31 and Quinn Trial by Lakeville reserve officer Jess E. Fisher.  After the stop, it was reported that Glick sped away and threw gravel off the tires of his 1990 Dodge pickup truck.  Fisher followed in his 2006 Crown Victoria and attempted to stop the truck once again.  Glick is said to have slammed on his breaks, and Fisher was unable to stop in time and rear ended the pickup truck. 

The truck received minor damage and Gluck was not injured.  However Officer Fisher was hurt in the crash and transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with non-life threating injuries.  His police car is said to be totaled. 

Glick reported to state police that he was having problems with his breaks and they locked up trying to stop suddenly. 

Indiana State Police are continuing their investigation, but say alcohol and road conditions do not appear to be a factor.
