Rising Deaths at Indiana Day Cares Raise Alarm

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A rising number of deaths at Indiana day cares is causing alarm among children's advocates, but many critics doubt the trend will change unless Indiana requires all facilities to be licensed. The Indianapolis Star reports the number of day care deaths jumped from one in 2011 to nine in 2012 and 11 last year. Twenty-one of the 31 reported deaths occurred at unlicensed or illegal day cares.
