Homeowner Pleading Guilty in Fatal Robbery Chase

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ A southern Indiana man is pleading guilty to a criminal charge in connection with ramming his truck into a car full of men who had robbed his home, killing one of them and injuring another.

The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office says 42-year-old Ira Beumer of Evansville will plead guilty to a felony charge of criminal recklessness. The announcement on Wednesday follows two days of testimony in his trial on murder and other charges for the February 2012 crash.

A state police accident reconstructionist testified Beumer's truck was going nearly 70 mph when it hit the fleeing car. The crash killed 22-year-old Antuan Jenkins. Three others in the car have been convicted of breaking into Beumer's rural home.

Beumer faces a potential sentence of two years to eight years in prison.
