KOKOMO, Ind. (AP): A doctor has pleaded guilty to charges of mishandling prescriptions for painkillers and other drugs at central Indiana clinics he operated.
 
       Seventy-eight-year-old Don Wagoner pleaded guilty during a Howard County court hearing Wednesday to seven felony counts, including dealing a narcotic drug and dealing in a controlled substance.
 
       Wagoner faces a July 2 sentencing hearing. Deputy Prosecutor Ron Byal tells the Kokomo Tribune Wagoner will spend time in prison under the plea agreement.
 
       Wagoner, his wife and two other doctors were arrested last year on narcotics charges connected to clinics in Kokomo and the nearby town of Burlington. State officials say at least a dozen patients died from drug-related complications.
 
       Charges are still pending against the other doctors.
