Inmate in Central Indiana Prison Fatally Stabbed

PUTNAMVILLE, Ind. (AP): A central Indiana prison is on lockdown following the fatal stabbing of an inmate.  The Indiana Department of Correction says 34-year-old Darwin Elmore was stabbed shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday. Medics were called, and Elmore died about 11:30 p.m. Prison officials and Indiana State Police are investigating Elmore's death. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
