Squirrel Leaves 4,200 in Indiana with No Power

ELKHART, Ind. (AP): Indiana Michigan Power says a squirrel got into a substation in Elkhart County and knocked out power to 4,200 customers.

The power was knocked out about 12:15 p.m. Monday and as of 6 p.m. 759 customers in Elkhart County remained without power. The outage comes less than a week after storms that included 11 tornadoes across northern Indiana left thousands without power, some for several days.

At the height of the outage Monday, I&M said 2,967 customers in St. Joseph County and 1,248 in Elkhart County were without power.
