Woman Fatally Stabbed at NW Indiana Hospital

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (AP): Police say a female patient was fatally stabbed at a northwestern Indiana hospital and her husband was found dead inside their home.
 
       Police say a person of interest is in custody for the deaths at Methodist Hospital Southlake in Merrillville and the home in Gary. Merrillville Police Chief Joseph Petruch during a news conference that investigators believed the attacks were domestic in nature and that the public isn't in danger.
 
       The hospital stabbing happened about 1 a.m. Friday and the hospital was placed on lockdown, but that has since been lifted.
 
       Gary Police Chief Wade Ingram said the man was found dead inside his home after officers went there to check on his well-being. Officials didn't immediately release the identities of those involved.
