JAMESTOWN, Ind. (AP) – A Japanese auto parts supplier says it plans to invest $73.5 million in a 151,000-square-foot manufacturing plant near Interstate 74 in Jamestown.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says in a news release that Fukai Toyotetsu Indiana Corporation's plant is expected to employ up to 195 people by 2017. Hiring will begin next spring. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Friday at the 40-acre site in Boone County, about 35 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

The plant will build automotive pillars, body structures and frames.

The development corporation offered the company about $1.4 million in in economic incentives based on its job-creation plans. The incentives won't be awarded until employees are hired.

The state also is giving Boone County up to $1.3 million to help pay for necessary infrastructure improvements.
