Indiana Woman Killed During Ohio Motorcycle Pileup

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) – Authorities in southwest Ohio say an Indiana woman was killed in a pileup during a charity motorcycle ride over the weekend.

The sheriff's office in Butler County says 54-year-old Kathleen Owen of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, died in the crash. She was a passenger on one of the motorcycles that crashed Saturday afternoon north of Cincinnati.

Morgan Township Fire Chief J.R. Wood said as many as 200 motorcycles were participating in the ride raising money for charity.

Four others were transported from the scene and hospitalized. Two remained in intensive care Monday.

Wood estimated that a dozen motorcycles were involved in the pileup, but that wasn't clear because some had left the scene.

Wood said that “somebody in the front went down, and they started piling up.”
