Indianapolis Group Bound for Ferguson, Missouri

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Leaders of an Indianapolis-based anti-crime group are heading to Missouri to meet with members of the faith community in Ferguson.

The Indianapolis Star reports the Ten Point Coalition, led by the Rev. Charles Harrison, will meet with black pastors to address various racially tense incidents sparked by the August shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The faith-based group will also return to the St. Louis suburb next month to help build trust between residents and the local police department.

Harrison says the coalition hopes to train Ferguson locals about community policing and street engagement.

He says the group also wants to help the city prepare for the upcoming grand jury investigation into Brown's death.
