BMV Releases Video on New Motor Scooter Rules

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is asking motor scooter drivers to review new rules before they take effect in January.

The BMV released a video Wednesday that will help drivers license and operate their scooters. A new state law requiring licenses for scooters takes effect Jan. 1.

The video will explain which documents are needed to obtain a scooter license and the different types of licenses needed for various scooters. Commissioner Don Snemis says that the new video will help scooter drivers comply with the law. 

The video also describes the new scooter license plates that will be required.
