Shakeup Nears for Indianapolis TV Viewers

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The upcoming switch of CBS programming to a different Indianapolis television station will also see the fight for viewers start among a new slew of newscasts.

CBS Corp. announced in August that it was ending its nearly six-decade affiliation with WISH-TV with a switch to WTTV effective Jan. 1. WTTV will become the fifth Indianapolis station with daily news programs, while WISH is preparing to add four hours of newscasts a day to help fill the loss of network programming.

Indianapolis-based Z Marketing Partners media director Rick Doyle tells the Indianapolis Business Journal that the changes will cause much confusion among advertising buyers and viewers for months.

WISH General Manager Les Vann tells The Indianapolis Star that the station isn't starting from scratch as it looks to keep viewers.
