83-year-old Man Dies in Eastern Indiana House Fire

SELMA, Ind. (AP) – An 83-year-old man has died in an eastern Indiana house fire.

Officials say Charles Clairday of Selma died in the early Monday blaze. Liberty Township Fire Chief Randy Ried says firefighters found Clairday dead in the burning home. Selma is about 6 miles east of Muncie.

Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn says an autopsy was done Monday at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He says a cause of death is pending lab tests but looks consistent with a fire.

The Star Press in Muncie reports (http://tspne.ws/17pYC1w ) that Clairday is the third house-fire related death in Delaware County in the last two weeks.
