Vote Could be Coming for Proposed Religious Freedom Bill

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Indiana House could vote Monday on the Religious Freedom Restoration act.

Today, the House voted to reject amendments that sought to clarify how religious beliefs could be used, failed to pass. Supporters say Senate Bill 101 would add legal protections for religious beliefs, including business owners who don't want to provide services for same-sex wedding ceremonies.

Opponents say the measure would license discrimination against gays and lesbians. The measure has already cleared in the Indiana Senate.
