INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A scam to claim a $2 million Hoosier Lottery scratch-off ticket has landed a central Indiana man, his wife and his brother behind bars facing charges including theft, fraud and forgery.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry told a news conference Thursday that authorities had arrested 29-year-old Joseph Parsley of Hendricks County; his wife, 28-year-old Ashlee Parsley; and his brother, 35-year-old Jackie Parsley II.

Curry says Jackie Parsley formerly managed a Plainfield liquor store where Ashlee Parsley, before getting married, said she bought the $2 million ticket. But that ticket was among a package of $20 tickets that were stolen from the store last year. Ashley Campbell then claimed the prize at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis, collecting $1.14 million, apparently in post-tax winnings.

The brothers' uncle reported the theft.
